OFSAA wrestling
It was a banner year for Greater Sudbury wrestlers at the recent OFSAA Wrestling Championships in Hagersville. Chelmsford high school were the big winners. Sheldon Burton won gold in the 64-kilogram class while younger brother Spencer won gold in the 67-kg division. Dylan Byrnes (95-kg) won silver. Macdonald Cartier's Lee-Anna Taillefer won silver in the 77-kg class. Over 300 teams competed. Chelmsford finished fifth overall in the boys' teams standings and fourth overall in the combined (boys and girls) standings. No school has ever placed as high in boys' or combined team standings.


OFSAA volleyball
The OFSAA girls' AA championship will be decided this week in Greater Sudbury. The event takes place at Cambrian College and St. Charles College today and Wednesday. Local entries include: Confederation, ranked sixth and St. Charles, ranked 18th.

On Tuesday, Confederation plays Kapsukasing (9 am, Cambrian), Vaughn Road (noon, St. Charles) and General Amherst (3 pm, Cambrian). On Wednesday, Jean Vanier (8 am, St. Charles). Also on Tuesday, St. Charles plays St. Thomas Aquinas (10:30 am, Cambrian), Dryden (1:30 pm, St. Charles) and Park Street (7:30 pm, St. Charles). On Wednesday, Ernestown (9:15 am, Cambrian).

All finals take place Wednesday. The semi-finals start at 3 pm at Cambrian. The bronze game goes at 5 pm, with the gold medal game at 7 pm, both at Cambrian.
