For the Tuesday edition, it's Lasalle Lancers hockey forward Nick Aaviku. The boys' hockey team captain was named the Division I playoff MVP after scoring eight goals and 11 points in six playoff games versus Notre-Dame and St. Charles. Aaviku tallied five goals and six points in a two-game sweep of Notre-Dame in the semi finals. Aaviku then recorded three goals and five points in a four game series win over St. Charles in the city finals. Aaviku tallied six goals and 16 points in seven regular season games.

Honour Roll
The Lasalle Lancers won the boys' Division I city championship by besting St. Charles three games to one in the finals. It was their third straight city crown. Lasalle now prepares to host AAA NOSSA at Countryside Arena from March 25 to 26. St. Charles goes to North Bay for the A/AA NOSSA event also from March 25 to 26.

The Bishop Alexander Carter boys' hockey team won their first ever city banner in the sport by beating Espanola two games to one in the Division II finals. Forward Evan Daciuk tallied one goal and three points in the final game, leading Bishop carter to a 6-0 victory and their newest banner. It was a big turn around fodor the team considering they started the season 1-10.

The Marymount Regals won the girls' Division II hockey championship after dumping Espanola two games to none. It was the first city title for Marymount in 10 years.


Athletes of the Week (First week of March)
Jasmine Roy, L'Horizon, basketball, volleyball
Roy, a Grade 10 student participated in senior girls' basketball and junior girls' volleyball. She played a leading role on her volleyball team delivering crushing hits at the middle position. Roy utilizes her height to her advantage at the net to either block the opponents attack or to transition to offence. She is known to sacrifice her body in order to dig balls. Her efforts helped the team in winning a city title and a NOSSA A title.

Jordan Mills, St. Charles, hockey, soccer
Mills is a Grade 12 student playing both senior hockey and senior soccer over the past two years. In hockey, Mills is one of the top defensive players in the league, anchoring the team which is contending  for a NOSSA AA championships. Mills plays over 30 minutes a game and is co captain of the team. He is well known for his mobility, puck handling and ferocious hits.
In soccer Mills played both defence and goaltender and is looking forward to the upcoming season where the team is a  perennial contender for the city championship . He is also an outstanding student who has already had academic scholarship offers at Carlton University and Laurentian.
