Jr. Wolves lose to Skyhawks

Posted by Sudbury Northern Life  The Kal Tire Jr. Wolves dropped a 6-3 decision to the Skyhawks in North Bay Sunday night. The Skyhawks jumped out to a 4-0 first period lead and chased Jr. Wolves starting goaltender Joey Delwo.

The Kal Tire Jr. Wolves dropped a 6-3 decision to the Skyhawks in North Bay Sunday night.

The Skyhawks jumped out to a 4-0 first period lead and chased Jr. Wolves starting goaltender Joey Delwo.

Tyler Arps, Jeff Verreault and Mark Zagordo scored for the Jr. Wolves, who were outshot 30-27 by the first place Skyhawks.

The victory gives the Skyhawks eight wins in 10 meetings with the Jr. Wolves this season.

The Jr. Wolves will regroup for Wednesday's game against the Temiscaming Royals at 8 p.m. at the Garson Arena. A victory will solidify the Jr. Wolves hold on third place in the Eastern Conference.

The Jr. Wolves will hold a special presentation for their graduating captain Jordan Cheechoo at Wednesday's game.
