The Sudbury Kal Tire Jr. Wolves fought back on home ice to stave-off elimination Sunday afternoon at the Garson Arena with a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over the Abitibi Eskimos. The Conference semi-final now stands at 3-1 in favour of Abitibi.

The series shifts back to Iroquois Falls on Tuesday night where the Eskimos can win the series on home ice with a victory. All four games in the series have been decided by just one goal.

The Eskimos jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the second period thanks to Alex Fiset's two markers. Before the second period ended, the Jr. Wolves battled back to tie the game on goals by Jordan Cheechoo and Jeff Verreault.

Abitibi took a 3-2 lead into the final half of the third period before the Wolves' Erik Belanger scored on the power play to tie the game.

Jr. Wolves scoring star Chris Kangas scored the game winner with just over five minutes remaining in the frame. Kangas finished the game with a goal and two assists for three points. Belanger and Verreault had a goal and an assist a piece. Jordan Cheechoo also scored for the Jr. Wolves. Zach McGillis added two assists.

Veteran goaltender Joey Delwo was solid in net for the Jr. Wolves and turned aside 23 shots. Delwo made some game-saving stops in the final minute of the game with Abitibi with the man advantage and an extra attacker when they pulled their goalie.

Should the Jr. Wolves win on Tuesday night, game six in the series will be played Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at the Garson Arena.
