The Junior Wolves are expected to ice a high-powered offensive-minded team this season led by last year's leading scorer Chris Kangas, stated a release from the Jr. Wolves.

Kangas, a Walden native, is expected to be joined by returning top scorers Zach McGillis, Erik Belanger and Evan Daciuk.

The Junior Wolves are also expected to ice one of the top defensive corps in the league led by five-year veteran Chris Pontes. Pontes will be joined by veteran defencemen: Tyler Arps and Luc Comtois. All three defencemen have OHL experience with the Wolves' parent club.

The Junior Wolves will also be solid in net with returning goaltender Nick McMullen ready to lead the way.

"We are expecting a real good battle for all of the remaining positions," notes Jr. Wolves manager Oscar Clouthier  "We have some excellent veterans returning along with an exciting crop of rookies. We also have some players from out-of-town that will be moving to Sudbury to attend Laurentian, Cambrian or College Boreal.  Some students have indicated that they will be attending our try outs as well."

The Kal Tire Jr. Wolves will play a 50-game regular season schedule and will be returning to their home arena - McClelland Arena in Copper Cliff this season.

"It is great to be back in our home rink" stated Clancy.  "The city did a great job restoring and upgrading our dressing room and the players are going to enjoy having their own room again."

"The ownership (Burgess Family) is excited, the management is excited, and the players are excited to get started," notes Wolves' president Blaine Smith. "This team has won two championships in the last four years and everyone is determined to win another one this season.  I believe we have the skill and leadership needed to get the job done."

Season tickets for the Junior Wolves home games are now on sale from the Wolves' Office in New Sudbury.  Adult season passes are only $125 while Juniors and Seniors are priced at only $75.  Credit cards are accepted.

"The price is right for local hockey fans to enjoy junior hockey every Wednesday night in the newly renovated McClelland arena in Copper Cliff," adds Smith.  "It's terrific hockey, very affordable and a great opportunity for local players to showcase their talents in front of their hometown fans.”
