Junior Wolves take Eskimos by the throat

 The Kal Tire Sudbury Junior Wolves have taken a commanding 2-0 lead in their NOJHL Championship series versus the Abitibi Eskimos.

Sudbury gained the big advantage after nipping the Eskimos 4-3 at the McClelland Arena on Tuesday in Copper Cliff. Sudbury won the first game 5-2 this past Sunday.

The Junior Wolves exploded in the second period, scoring all four of their goals and then held on for the tight win.

Sudbury got goals from a balanced attack as four players - Scott Restoule, Jessie Howg, Chris Pontes and J.F. Houle - all found the net in the victory.

Sudbury goalie Joey Delwo made 28 saves to earn the win.

Abitibi received goals from Felix Dorval, with two, and Matt St. Jacques.

Eskimos starting goalie Francis Albert made 22 saves before being yanked for back up Miles Williams, who made 12 stops.

The three stars of the game were Houle, St. Jacques and Chris Kangas respectively.

Sudbury now hits the road for the third game in Abitibi territory on Thursday. Game time is 7:30 pm.

The Junior Wolves return to the McClelland Arena on Saturday for the fourth game, which is slated to start at 7:30 pm.
