Keepin' cool at hockey camp

No Frills Hockey School is back and better than ever. The camp runs from July 24 to Aug. 4 at the Countryside Arena, starting at 5 pm.


The school is open to boys and girls, from ages seven to 18.


The focus of the camps will be on power skating, shooting fundamentals, puck control, teamwork and offensive and defensive play.


There's also the Mini-Mite Camp, for kids ages four to six, which teaches basic fundamentals of the game such as balance, skating, passing, scoring and puck carrying.


Featured instructors include Mike Heaphy, Stu Duncan and Bev McIver.


The cost for one week is $155, while two weeks will cost $295.


There will also be four-on-four hockey at Countryside Arena from Aug. 7 to 11, from 5 pm to 8 pm. Cost is $130 for three sessions for ages seven to 13. For more information or to register, phone 969-5816.

The New Edge Girls Hockey School is back and ready to accept registrations. The camp is for girls only. Participants will learn from professional, college, university and junior level hockey players. The camp runs from Aug. 14 to 18 at Countryside Arena.
