The Sudbury Junior Wolves have announced that 17-year-old forward Brandon Labelle has been signed for the remainder of the season.

Labelle, a draft selection of the Oshawa Generals of the OHL, played for the Jr. Wolves last season as a 16-year-old rookie and compiled four goals, four assists for eight points in 21 games and 27 penalty minutes.

Labelle, a native of Hanmer, pursued the southern Ontario hockey route earlier this season but decided to return home to complete his schooling.

Labelle will be a welcomed addition to the Jr. Wolves as the team has struggled to ice a full-roster this season due to long-term injuries to several players including rookies Mark Zagordo and Ryan Paul and the sudden retirement of a few players.

"Brandon will add some grit and skill to our line-up," said Jr. Wolves Coach David Clancy, in a release. "He will cause havoc in the opponent's end and will create scoring chances for his linemates."

Labelle is expected to dress tonight for the Jr. Wolves when they host the Soo Thunderbirds at 8 p.m. at the Garson Arena.
