The Laurentian Lady Vees played two exhibition matches against Brock and McMaster this past weekend. The Laurentian women and Brock Badgers tied 2-2 on Saturday in St. Catharines, while the Marauders clipped the Lady Vees 2-1 on Sunday in Hamilton.

On Saturday, Dayna Corelli of Sudbury, and 2008 OUA second team all-star Lisa Watson of Newmarket, each scored for the Lady Vees, tying the defending OUA bronze medalist Badgers 2-2.

The Lady Vees were excellent in the first 20 minutes of Sunday's game, however were unable to sustain the momentum and fell 2-1 to the Marauders, a press release stated. Corelli again tallied for the Lady Vees in their final pre-season tune-up.

“This weekend was really good for experience,” said head coach Rob Gallo. “We were able to find out where everyone fit in. We really did look quite seamless at times, which I am very happy about.

“There were plenty of pleasant surprises, we are in the beginning phases but are moving forward.”

The Lady Vees head into the final week of preparation before they get ready for a hectic start to the season, playing four games in eight days. Laurentian will host the Carleton Ravens on Sept. 5 at 12 p.m. at the Laurentian soccer field to kick off the season.
