It is that busy time of the year for the Lady Wolves' crew, with numerous teams in the midst of either playdown or playoff series.

The Bantam AA girls have their backs against the wall, after earning a tie at home on Saturday, but dropping a 5-1 decision to the North Bay Ice Boltz the next day in the Gateway City.

Mylène Lefebvre and Lauren Hancock gave Sudbury a 2-0 lead in the opener, only to see Hannah and Sarah Irwin pull the Boltz even at the Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex.

The Peewee A Lady Wolves were eliminated in their quest to advance to provincials, dropping a 3-0 decision on Sunday to the North Bay Ice Boltz. The visitors, who captured Game 1 by a score of 1-0, broke the ice in Game 2.

Alex Murmila scooped up a loose puck just inside the Sudbury zone and found the far corner of the net at 10:06 of the second period, giving the Boltz the only goal they would need.

Jayden Denomme provided a cushion, converting on a two-on-one with Murmila in the third, before Madison Desmarais capped things off, nailing the centre of the empty net.

North Bay netminder Charley Wing recorded the shutout for the visitors. The Sudbury Midget AA Lady Wolves experienced a wild emotional swing on Saturday in Parry Sound, eliminated from the Lower Lakes playoffs by the Mississauga Chiefs.

Trailing their four-point series three to one, the Lady Wolves blasted the Chiefs 7-0, forcing a winner take all overtime session.

Unfortunately for coach Richard Walker and company, the fourth period lasted less than a minute, with Mississauga netting the game-winning goal.

After recording an exciting first-round playoff upset against the Waterloo Ravens, the Sudbury Peewee AA Lady Wolves could not keep pace with the high-flying Oakville Hornets in round two.

The second seeded team stopped the Lady Wolves by scores of 4-1 and 2-0, earning their spot in the LLFHL semifinals along with the Brampton Canadettes, Durham West Lightning and Whitby Wolves.

Though the bulk of the OWHA (Ontario Women's Hockey Association) provincials are slated for April 9-12, the Intermediate divisions are being contested on March 20-22, with both tournaments taking place in Toronto.
