Local track and field champ competing at worlds

Track North's Caroline Ehrhardt will compete for Canada Wednesday (July 8) at the sixth IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) World Youth Track and Field Championships in Sudtirol, Italy.

Ehrhardt will be competing in her specialty — the triple jump — starting with the qualification round at 5:40 p.m. (Sudtirol time) on Wednesday.

The top 12 jumpers from the qualifying round will move onto the final, being contested on Friday at 4:40 p.m.

Ehrhardt recently set a new Canadian Interscholastic record en route to winning gold at the OFSAA championships in June, with a jump of 12.76 metres. Two weeks ago, she won a silver medal at the Canadian Senior Championships, placing behind Olympian Tabia Charles.
