The Lockerby soccer program is shining brightly in the city of Greater Sudbury as both the senior girls and boys' teams won their respective city AA/AAA championships on Wednesday.

The Vikings boys squad dumped the St. Charles Cardinals 1-0, thanks to the lone goal of Deven Stillar.

cl The win capped off a strong local season for the boys team as they went 6-1-3 overall and also finished first overall in the regular season standings.

Lockerby counted two goals from Veronica Mazzella and singles from Jenna Shroeder, Kayla O'Link and Stacey Watson.

The Lockerby girls finished the local season off at 8-0-0.

The A Division championships go today at Macdonald Cartier high school.

St. Benedict is lead by the quick foot of Joey Martellacci, which produced 12 goals in six regular season games.

L'Horizon counters with Dan Thibert, who tallied four goals in three regular season games.

Soccer fans can brace themselves for NOSSA action on Monday, June 2 at Sacre-Coeur.
