Laurentian University's Scott Cliff has been named the Canadian University Sport Mitsubishi male athlete of the week for the period ending Sept. 21.

Cliff, a fourth-year sport and physical education student in his first season with the Voyageurs, extended his personal shutout streak to 266 minutes as Laurentian (4-2-1) blanked RMC, 3-0, and Queen's, 1-0, to join Toronto in a tie for second place in the OUA East standings.

The 6-1 keeper from Sudbury, who returned home after three years at Oakland City University in Indiana, made his best save of the weekend Sunday against Queen's when he dove across the net and cleared the ball off the goal line, to preserve the Voyageurs' slim 1-0 lead.
