The CHL and NHL Central Scouting have added Sudbury Wolves' Marcus Foligno to the Top 40 Prospects roster of the CHL Top Prospects Game to be played on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 7:00 p.m. in Oshawa, Ontario.
Foligno will join 39 other top prospects for the upcoming NHL Draft and will participate in the skills competition on Tuesday night in Oshawa, followed by the CHL Top Prospects Game on Wednesday night.
The Top Prospects Game will be televised nationally on Rogers Sportsnet beginning at 7 p.m. The coaches in the Top Prospects Game will once again feature celebrities Don Cherry and Bobby Orr.
Foligno, 17, has been highly touted for the upcoming NHL draft due to his size, physical play and puck skills.
The 6-3, 205 lb forward is the youngest of the Foligno family and is looking to join his older brother Nick in the NHL someday soon.
Foligno will rejoin his Sudbury teammates on Thursday when
they travel to Barrie to play the Colts in a key divisional
match-up. Foligno and the Wolves return home on Friday for
another tough test when they host Cody Hodgson and the Brampton
Battalion. Game time on Friday is 7:30 p.m.
Friday's game is "Retro Jersey Night" as the Wolves will be
wearing the old green wolf on their jerseys for the first time
since 1987.
Jerseys will be auctioned off to the fans in attendance at Friday's game, courtesy of BMI. Proceeds from the sale of the jerseys will be donated to the Sudbury Wolves Scholarship Program.
