The NOJHL has announced Mark Seidel will be the new League Commissioner, replacing interim commissioner Hector Seguin..

The Board of Governors unanimously approved the Search Committee's recommendation Seidel take over the reigns of the NOJHL.

Seidel's hockey background includes work with the NOJHL as both a general manager and director of player personnel - most recently with the Sudbury Northern Wolves. His familiarity with the league was certainly a factor in the decision to bring Seidel on board. Seidel was the 2007 NHL Draft Insider for ESPN in the United States and has also served as the Assistant GM of the Erie Otters (OHL), Chief Scout for the  Owen Sound Attack (OHL) as well as a Regional Scout for the Minnesota Wild (NHL).

He was also the chief scout for International Scouting Services.

Along with his work within the hockey world, Seidel also has extensive management experience which will serve him well within the NOJHL boardroom.

One of Seidel's first duties will be to represent the League at the 2007 CJAHL Annual General Meeting in Charlottetown (PEI) from  August 8 to 10.  He will have approximately three weeks to become familiar with the league's operation before chairing his first board meeting later this summer.
