Members of Benoit's Martial Arts Xtreme and competitive team recently competed at the WKA Canadian Championships in Gatineau on May 26 to 28. 

Here's how the team faired:
Justin Lanteigne - first in traditional kata; Jordan Lanteigne - second in musical kata; Sheila Grech - first in traditional kata; Irene Nizzero - third in traditional weapons and fourth in traditional kata; Alexis Nizzero - third in traditional weapons; Rebecca Mailloux - fourth in traditional weapons, fourth in musical kata and sixth in traditional kata; Mia Giommi - fourth in traditional kata and sixth in traditional weapons; Corey Black - fifth in traditional kata; Sarah Shea - fourth in traditional kata; Ian Boyne - fifth in traditional weapons and third in traditional kata; Trevor Blanchard - sixth in traditional kata and seventh in musical weapons; Christian Fey - eighth in traditional kata, seventh in sparring and tenth in traditional weapons.


Competitors who placed in the top three positions are eligible to compete at the WKA World Championships which will be held in Spain in November.
