The Colin Yates Memorial 3-on-3 Basketball tournament is returning the Sudbury this summer with the second annual event taking place on August 23, 2008 at the Ben Avery Gym on the Laurentian University Campus.
The Colin Yates Memorial 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament has been co-ordinated in remembrance and in tribute to fallen Voyageurs and teammate Colin Yates.
Yates died tragically in a car accident in December 2004. He became a fan favourite for the Voyageurs sporting the number 10 for three seasons between 2001 and 2004.
This year's event will have one division open to men 18 years of age or older with a limit of 16 teams being able to register. Each team will be guaranteed to play at least three games with each team being comprised of no more than five players.
Early registration for the event is open now with teams able to register for $125 until Tuesday, August 5, 2008.
Any team registering between August 5 and Tuesday, August 19, 2008 will have to pay the late registration fee of $150.
No team registrations will be accepted on or after Wednesday August 20, 2008. The tournament pamphlet/registration form is available by visiting www.luvoyageurs.com and clicking the tournament link.
