The Laurentian University men's basketball program slam-dunked two more recruits.

Bryan Davidson and Ryan Vetrie will start playing for the Voyageur basketball program in September.

Davidson is a six-foot-two, 190-pound guard who was a multi-sport athlete competing in volleyball, basketball and track and field at Lockerby Composite School in Sudbury. In 2004 and 2005, Davidson was named senior male athlete of the year as well as MVP for basketball, volleyball and track and field.  This past year Davidson was crowned the All-Canadian game high school dunk champion.

"Laurentian has a great young team that in the next few years will definitely leave their mark," said Davidson.

Davidson is known for his hard working attitude, athleticism, energy and ability to motivate his teammates.  He is a very competitive player who is always willing to do whatever it takes to win.

Vetrie is a five-foot-eleven point guard from Victoria, B.C. who has competed in both the CIS as a member of the University of Victoria Vikes in 2003 and the OCAA as a member of the Sault College Cougars last season where he averaged 11 points per game.

The native of Victoria played his high school ball for Claremont Secondary School where he won a city championship and was the silver medallists at the provincial championships in 2002.  His performance that year resulted in him winning Island MVP honours, and a 1st team all-star nod at the provincial championships.  Vetrie was also a member of the U-17 B.C. provincial team that took home a silver medal at the national championships for that age group in 2000 and was invited to the Nike camp in 2001.

"I was able to see Laurentian play one weekend against Ryerson and Toronto and I liked the intensity and the way they played together" said Vetrie.

Vetrie is known around basketball circles for his leadership skills, unselfishness, his excellent attitude, strong work ethic and his excellent knowledge of the game, all of which will serve him and his teammates well in the upcoming season.

Both Davidson and Vetrie will follow similar paths while at Laurentian with Davidson being enrolled in the Sports & Physical Education program and Vetrie starting out in the Arts program and hoping to switch into the Education program at some point over his time at Laurentian.
