Last weekend, the major peewee Gateway Helicopters Nickel Centre Flyers won the NOHA Tournament of Champions in New Liskeard.
With the victory, the Flyers now get the chance to compete at the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) Championships in Woodstock from April 12 to 15.
The Flyers finished first in their division at the NOHA event by going 2-0-1.
In the semi-final game, the Flyers knocked out a team from North Bay (West Ferris) in thrilling fashion with a 4-3 overtime win. Astin Chambers  scored the winning goal.
The Flyers then met a team from Iroquois Falls in the championship final.
Despite being down 5-4 going into the third period, the
Flyers pulled out all the stops and scored two goals in the
third frame to take the game and the trophy by the score of
6-5.
