The OHL rumour mill is mixing at full speed right now. In reports from sources, Sudbury's Jadran Beljo has been traded from the Peterborough Petes to the Mississauga IceDogs for goalie David Shantz. Beljo exploded this past season, scoring 19 goals and 35 points in 59 games, including 12 goals on the power play. Shantz had an off year, compiling a record of 10 wins, 11 losses and three ties with a 2.84 goals-against-average and a .909 save percentage.

Sudbury's Todd Lalonde and International Scouting Services (ISS) chief scout Mark Seidel were finalists for the head coaching and GM duties in Windsor. Lalonde would have served as head coach and GM, while Seidel would have covered the scouting and recruiting of players detail. Windsor owner Steve Riolo hired former NHLer Moe Mantha instead to guide the Spitfires out of obscurity. Lalonde, who coached the Sudbury Wolves from 1995-98, will now coach the Windsor Lancers women's hockey team in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA). Seidel will continue to work for ISS.

The Wolves will kick off their 2005-06 campaign with two home games. The Wolves play the Erie Otters on Friday, Sept. 23 to start the season. The Wolves then host the Ottawa 67s, in a rematch from the 2004-05 Eastern Conference semi final match up, Sunday, Sept. 25.
