Northern Life is calling out to all local sporting groups to submit athletes or teams for a new feature called Northern Life Athlete of the Week.
Whether it's a kid who scored three goals in a soccer game or a
youngster who played a great defensive game in baseball, we
want to hear from you.
Maybe your team won a tournament and you would like to show
the community how proud you are of the team.
Send a small write-up, including name(s), team name, sport and
the accomplishment, along with a high-resolution, high-quality
digital image of the athlete or team.
Send nominations to
[email protected]
by Monday morning of each week. The Northern Life Athlete of
the Week will run in every Friday edition.
The first Northern Life Athlete of the Week is Anjelica
Mazzella, who plays midfield for the Sudbury Panhellenic
Women's team in the Ontario Women's Soccer league. Last
weekend, Mazzella scored two big goals to help her squad earn a
tough 3-3 tie with the visiting North York Wolves.
The tie helped the team take first place in the Regional Central Division with four wins and one tie in the first five games.
