Laurentian University will host the OUA Nordic Ski Championships Feb 18 and 19, with more than 100 students from eight Ontario universities completion.

The men's 10-kilometre race and three-person relay will take place Saturday, as does the women's five-k race and relay. The competition starts at 9 am.

The men's 15-k and the women's 10-k race is scheduled for Sunday, starting at 10 am.

Lakehead University in Thunder Bay and Carlton Univeristy in Ottawa are the cross-country skiing powerhouses and are the favourites to win, although LU's Carley Kenwell and rookie Julie Porter have had impressive runs all season long and could do some damage for the Voyageurs.

On the men's side, Tim Carlton is considered to be LU's strongest skier but will have his work cut out for him if he's to succeed amidst a tough field.
