The Panhellenic Lightning girls Under-15 squad traveled this past long weekend to their first soccer tournament of the season held at the Vaughn Grove fields for the 2008 Woodbridge Showcase Tournament.
Pan Lightning U15 dominated for the whole tournament trampling over their competition with a near shut out for the tournament.
Saturday was the first game against Woodbridge East, and Sudbury won 3-0. Michelle Jacques contributed a single goal, while Karen Dubreuil kicked two goals firmly in the back of the net.
Next up on Saturday was Pickering, who the Lightning beat 1-0. Gennie Eaton scored the sole goal to win the game.
On Sunday, Panhellenic faced Woodbridge West and, once more, shut out the opponents  with a score of 2-0.
In the semi finals, the Lightning scored two goals during the first 15 minutes. A penalty kick gave Woodbridge East the only goal against the Lightning all tournament but the girls finished off the match with another goal for a convincing 3-1 win. Rebecca Laurenti scored two goals and Natalie St. Laurent tallied one.
The Championship game pitted the Lightning against Pickering once more and they didn't want to give in easily.
Emma Persi scored a goal against the formidable keeper for Pickering. With less than two minutes in the game, Kaitlin Matson stooped a strike against the net to secure the win for the Lightning.
