The Raptors Foundation for Kids, the charitable arm of the Toronto Raptors Basketball Club, has donated $5,000 to the Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation in support of their Send-A-Kid-To-Camp program.

Each quarter the Raptors Foundation for Kids distributes grants to six charities who share their mission of improving the lives of at risk and underprivileged youth across Ontario.

Each year, the Raptors Foundation for Kids raises and disperses more than $1 million. Since its inception, the foundation has raised more than $17 million and supported 5,500 Ontario registered charities.

The Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation has been sending kids to camp for the past 25 years. The program provides camping opportunities for disadvantaged children between the ages of six and 14 who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford the experience.

The program covers the cost of the whole camping experience for the children, including transportation to and from camp, basic necessities and sleeping bags. Costs average $300 per child. Since 1984 the program has sent over 12,000 children to camp.
