The Sudbury Sprinters Speed Skating Club made
their hometown proud this past weekend with a strong showing at
the first Ontario Cup Short Track event of the skating season
in Cambridge.
Keegan Pitre returned from Cambridge with a
silver medal medal while Kaelyn Pitre's race effort was
good enough for a fifth-place finish. In addition to Keegan and
Kaelyn, four other members of the Sudbury Sprinters have
qualified for the Provincial Short Track Championships next
year in London. They are Stephan Ayotte, Amber Ranich, Carolyn
Hreljac and Kelsey Pitre.
The next meet for the Sudbury Sprinters is
Nov. 20 in Brampton.
