With a 24-17 win over the North Bay Bulldogs, the Sudbury Spartans have clinched the final playoff spot and are only three consecutive victories away from being crowned Northern Football Conference Champions.
However, if the Spartans (3-5) are going to make any noise in the post-season, they're going to have to start with a win against the Milton Marauders (6-2) who have won four-straight to finish the season.
Defensively, Milton enters the game versus Sudbury as the
team with the fewest points allowed (64) all season. Sudbury
meanwhile has allowed more points than any other playoff bound
team (265).
The teams match-up better offensively as Milton scored 168
points during the season compared to Sudbury's 126.
The Spartans will be on the road for this game Aug. 5, although
the location and time have yet to be determined by the NFC.
