Four members of the Sudbury Sprinters Speed Skating Club participated in Ontario Cup #1 and North American Qualifier over the past weekend in Cambridge.

Kaelyn Pitre finished fourth in midget girls and qualified for the Ontario team. She will represent Ontario at North American Age Class Championships in Madison, Wisconsin the first week of December. This will be Pitre's first international competition.

Sudbury had other strong results including a fourth place finish for Keegan Pitre in juvenile boys, a seventh place finish for Alyssa Hreljac in bantam girls and nineth place finish for Kelsey Pitre in juvenile girls.

The first cup of the season was attended by 186 of the province's fastest short track speed skaters aged six-18.

Next action for the speed skaters will be in Clarington at the end of the month.
