Five members of the Sudbury Sprinters Speed Skating Club participated in Provincial Championships over the past weekend in Kitchener-Waterloo.

Alexie Therrien captured the silver medal in the Peewee Girls division. Therrien was leading heading into the final distance but was involved in a spill which took her out of gold medal contention.

Keegan Pitre behind a strong day two, finished in sixth position in the Juvenile Male division.

Kaelyn Pitre took seventh in the Midget Female group, while Kelsey Pitre finished ninth in Juvenile Female and Alyssa Hreljac placed 14th in Bantam Girls.

The Sprinters set many personal bests throughout the hotly contested weekend, which was attended by the top 162 of the province's fastest short track speed skaters aged six-18.
