The 2007 Canadian Open Short Track Speed Skating Championships wrapped on Saturday and produced some impressive results. The big winners of the event were Kalyna Roberge and Charles Hamelin. Both skaters swept the main events, winning gold in the men's and women's 500-metre, 1,000-m and 1,500-m respectively.

The championships provided local skaters with the opportunity to see first-hand what it takes to be an elite speed skater in Canada. The event was hosted by the Sudbury Sprinters Speed Skating Club at the Countryside Arena.
