Sudbury's Amber Konikow, two-time Canadian champion, is need of funding to step foot in the ring for her final national competition, to be held in Quebec Jan. 21.

Konikow said she dreams of retiring a three-time Canadian champion, but $1,000 is standing in her way.

ONTC Top Glove Boxing Academy head coach Gord Apolloni is asking the support of corporations to help Konikow compete.

Apolloni is also looking to send boxer Justin Bonhomme, who achieved bronze at his last national competition, to compete at the event as well.

The head coach said they are in need of $1,000 to send these two local boxers to represent Sudbury at the competition.

Anyone interested in donating funds should contact Apolloni at 674-2693.
