Senior boys' football
One semi final playoff match has been determined for next week.
Lo-Ellen Park (second place) will take on Lockerby (third
place) at Queen's Athletic Field at 7 pm. The two teams met
during the regular season back on Oct. 5 with Lockerby sneaking
out a tight win 36-32 over the Knights in the last play of the
game. Both teams have great aspirations about becoming the city
champion. The teams feature some of the top offensive and
defensive players in the league. Lockerby has hard throwing
quarterback Chris Sampson, while Lo-Ellen's pivot is smooth
operator Brett Walter. Both quarterbacks threw for over 500
yards this past season. Watch for the rushers as well. Lockerby
has Adam Legault and Jon Grenier, while Lo-Ellen has Bryan
Babic and Kyle Cooper. Any four of these players can reach 100+
yards per game.
At 4:30 pm, the regular season champs, the St. Benedict Bears,
will host either Notre-Dame or Confederation. At press time,
results from the Notre-Dame versus Confederation game were
unavailable. The Bears have won 13 straight games dating back
to last season.
