The late Mélisa Kingsley will be honoured by the Sudbury Lady Wolves on Saturday afternoon before a hockey game at Countryside Arena.

The 20-year-old Sudburian passed away from cancer Oct. 31. The Sudbury Lady Wolves alumna was diagnosed with sarcoma in August 2016 after being recruited by the Ottawa Gee Gees for the 2016-2017 season.

Treatments delayed her joining the team for a time, but last year she became part of the Gee Gees family.

She will be honoured starting at 2:15 p.m. Dec. 22 before the Midget AA Sudbury Lady Wolves game against the Barrie Sharks.

The Midget AA team is requesting the presence of all Sudbury Lady Wolves teams and asks players to wear their blue jerseys.

All SDGHA House League teams are invited, and are asked to also wear their hockey jerseys.
