Sudbury officers to compete in 'world's toughest' adventure race

Five officers of the Greater Sudbury Police Service will be participating in the Canadian Death Race in Grande Cache, Alberta, in support of Kids Help Phone, on the August long weekend.

Five officers of the Greater Sudbury Police Service will be participating in the Canadian Death Race in Grande Cache, Alberta, in support of Kids Help Phone, on the August long weekend.

This group of police officers will be traversing one of the world’s toughest adventure races, covering 125 kilometres, three mountain summits, river crossings, and more than 17,000 feet of elevation change.

Each officer is also committed to raising funds for Kids Help Phone.

In 2007, Kids Help Phone helped kids more than two million times by phone and online. Kids Help Phone offers free, professional counseling, information and referral to children and youth by phone and online. In the Sudbury area, Kids Help Phone helped kids 17,391 times in 2007.
