Chris Del Bosco of Sudbury captured his first podium finish, coming in second place in downhill ski cross at the World Cup event held in Les Contamines, France on Saturday.

According to the Canadian Press, Del Bosco was forced to take the outside lane in the final and fought hard to move into third in the second turn. He was able to pass Austrian Markus Wittner and almost caught up to Austrian Andreas Matt at the finish.

This is Del Bosco's eighth World Cup competition.
