Four members of the Sudbury Sprinters Speed Skating Club participated in Ontario Cup #2 over the past weekend in Belleville, with two members bringing home gold and bronze medals.

Alexie Therrien captured a gold medal in the peewee girls division for her first gold in her career at the Ontario Cup level. Keegan Pitre finished a strong third winning the bronze medal in the juvenile boys group.

Fresh off her competition at North Americans, Kaelyn Pitre finished fourth in midget girls. Rounding out the results, Kelsey Pitre finished 10th in the highly competitive juvenile girls division.

The Sprinters set many personal bests throughout another successful weekend at the second cup of the season, which was attended by 192 of the province's fastest short track speed skaters aged six to 18.

Next action for the speed skaters will be at Ontario Cup #3 at Kitchener-Waterloo in the new year.
