Sudbury Sprinters skate to podium in Kitchener

The medalists were among eight members of the Sudbury Sprinters Speed Skating Club that competed in the Ontario Cup including Kelsey Pitre who placed fifth and Amber Ranich who came in seventh place.

With her performance in Kitchener, Alyssa Hreljac joined six of her fellow sprinters by qualifying for the March 2006 Provincial Short Track Championships in London.

The next test for the Sudbury Sprinters comes Jan. 14 and 15 at a long track speed skating event in Sault Ste. Marie. The Provincial Long Track Championships are scheduled for the following weekend, Jan. 21 and 22, in Ottawa.
