The Sudbury Wolves returned to their winning ways on Saturday night with an impressive effort for the win against the Guelph Storm by a final score of 5 to 2.

view more photos The teams played to a 0 - 0 draw after the first period but the Wolves jumped out to a 3 - 1 lead after the second period. The Wolves first goal was scored by Jordan Ramsey, his first OHL goal, which was assisted by J.K. Hill and Brett Thompson.

The second goal was a marker by Peter Hermengildo, assisted by Patrik Lusnak and Jared Staal. The third goal came on the power play by Staal, who was assisted by Marcus Foligno and Wolves newcomer Frankie Santini.

The Storm got on the board before the end of the frame with a power goal by Luke Pither.

In the third period, the Wolves added two more power play goals with one goal from Hermenegildo, his second of the night, assisted by John Kurtz and Santini and a goal from Eric O'Dell, who was assisted by Matt Dias and Santini, his third assist of the night. The Storm added one more goal by Brandon Buck.

The Wolves received a strong performance from Wolves netminder Andrew Loverock, who made 43 saves in the winning effort, while the Storm's starting netminder Thomas McCollium was replaced mid-way in the second period by Jake Fisher. Both goaltenders combined for 34 saves for the loss.

The Molson Three Stars were: 1st Star - Andre Loverock, 2nd Star - Frankie Santini, and 3rd Star - Peter Hermenegildo.

The Wolves return to action on Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 at the Sudbury Arena when they host the visiting Owen Sound Attack - game time is 7:30 p.m.
