The Sudbury Canadians Soccer Club has been awarded a $25,000 Bell Community Sport Fund grant. In addition, the Bell Community Sport Fund will give the Sudbury Wolves a $5,000 grant.

These grants help bring the total awarded to $1 million over three phases in 2005 to community sport projects. A total of $445,000 has been awarded to 73 Ontario communities.

The $25,000 Bell Community Sport Fund grant awarded to the Sudbury Canadians Soccer Club will be used to develop a soccer outreach project to provide increased accessibility and promote youth participation in sport.

The program will organize soccer clinics at 22 elementary schools during the winter and offer seven summer soccer programs in low income areas.

The funds will be used to purchase equipment, hire instructors and produce education materials for the program.

The $5,000 Bell Community Sport Fund grant awarded to the Sudbury Wolves will be used to revive the organizations Ken Burgess Memorial Minor Hockey Bursary Fund, which covers registration fees and the purchase of hockey equipment for underprivileged youth.
