Swimmers compete in Timmins

The Laurentian University Swim Club took second place at the recent B Championships in Timmins. Eight teams competed at the event from across northeastern Ontario. Kasey Thompson won the High Points award in the girls' eight and under events.

The Laurentian University Swim Club took second place at the recent B Championships in Timmins. Eight teams competed at the event from across northeastern Ontario.

Kasey Thompson won the High Points award in the girls' eight and under events. Thompson took gold in the 100-metre freestyle, 200-m freestyle, 100-metre breaststroke, 100-m butterfly and 100-m individual medley.

Christina Hamilton won the girls' 13 and 14 High Points Award after taking gold in the 100-m, 200-m and 800-m freestyle and silver in the 50-m and 400-m freestyle.

Sarah Hargan placed second in the girls' 13 and 14 High Points award after winning gold in the 400-m individual medley, 400-m freestyle, 100-m butterfly, 100-m backstroke.

Jacob Toner took second in the boys' High Points Award.

In total, thirty-seven Sudbury swimmers took part in the event and recorded over 90 personal best times.
