Sudbury's Team Chiro has qualified for the World Club Crew Dragon Boat Championships after capturing one first and two second place finishes at the Canadian National Dragon Boat Championships, held in Montreal in the Olympic Basin this past weekend.

Competing against 21 premier mixed dragon boat teams from across the country, Team Chiro — the overall fastest boat in this year's Sudbury Dragon Boat races — came in first place in the 500-metre race, edging out Montreal and Toronto teams.

In the 250-metre and 2,000-metre race, the team came in a close second to Montreal teams, who the Sudbury paddlers will be joining in travelling to Macau, China for the World Club Crew Championships in July 2010. The teams will be racing against the top dragon boat teams from each country around the world.
