Team OHL gives Russia no love in Sudbury

A Belleville Bulls player came to the Sudbury Arena on Monday night and shot the lights out, but local fans cheered him on the whole way.

Shawn Matthias scored a goal and two points to lead Team OHL over the Russian Selects 4-2 in the front of 4,788 fans in the fourth game of the ADT Canada / Russia Challenge.

view more photos Canada now holds a 3-1 edge in the series. It shifts now to the WHL for the final two games.

Oshawa's John Tavares, Belleville's Bryan Cameron and Kitchener's Nick Spaling scored the other tallies for Team OHL.

Canadian goalie Trevor Cann was solid, making 16 saves for the win.

Vadim Golubtsov and Alexander Vasyunov scored the goals for Russia.

The series continues on Wednesday in Cranbrook, B.C. at 11:30 pm Eastern time on Rogers Sportsnet, and concludes in Medicine Hat, Alberta on Nov. 29. All games will be shown nationally on Rogers Sportsnet.
