Top Sudbury golfers ready to tee off

The top local golfers in Greater Sudbury are set to take the stage in one of the city's most thrilling golfing events. The annual Sudbury Ryder Cup starts this Friday and runs through until Sunday.

The top local golfers in Greater Sudbury are set to take the stage in one of the city's most thrilling golfing events.

The annual Sudbury Ryder Cup starts this Friday and runs through until Sunday.

The event features some of the best golfers from the Timberwolf, Idylwylde and Lively golf clubs squaring off against one another in match play competition.

The action tees off Friday at Timberwolf at 12:30 pm.

On Saturday, the field moves to Lively, starting at 11 am.

On Sunday, the final matches will be contested at the Idylwylde, beginning at 11 am.

Spectators are encouraged to watch the golfers work their magic on the greens for free at all three venues.

The Timberwolf team consists of Tom Clark, Sam Yawney, Jay Jewitt, Jason Aucoin, Jay Quesnel, Pat Laferriere, Gary Doyle and Guy Robineau.

The Idylwylde team consists of Paul Schweyer, Andrew Dean, Vince Palladino, Todd Crowder, Sid Segsworth, Matt Bortolotto, Bruce Frick, and John Marc Hamilton.

The Lively team consists of three time Greater Sudbury Championship winner John Hastie, Josh Cooney, Brent Hatton, Scott Wing, Max Kallio, Brian Ceaser, Jean Luc Lacelle and Eric Vickman.
