Track athletes medal at national championships

Two Track North athletes won medals at the Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships in Quebec this past weekend. Caroline Ehrhardt, 17, of Espanola, won the women's triple jump with a best jump of 12.25 metres.

Two Track North athletes won medals at the Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships in Quebec this past weekend.

Caroline Ehrhardt, 17, of Espanola, won the women's triple jump with a best jump of 12.25 metres. Her best jump was 63 centimetres ahead of second place.

Ross Proudfood, 17, of Lively, collected a silver in the men's 3,000 metre event, establishing a new personal best of 8:41.

“We are a relatively small club, and to win two medals at a national championships shows the tremendous level of talent in the Sudbury area,” said Track North coach Darren Jermyn, in a release.
