Triathlon Aug. 15 at Whitewater Lake

The Nickel City Triathlon Team is holding its first local triathlon Aug. 15 at Whitewater Lake in Azilda. “We hope to see many enthusiastic athletes come out that day to test the course for the 2010 Summer Games Triathlon.
The Nickel City Triathlon Team is holding its first local triathlon Aug. 15 at Whitewater Lake in Azilda.

“We hope to see many enthusiastic athletes come out that day to test the course for the 2010 Summer Games Triathlon. The course will be a sprint distance with loops on both the bike and run course,” said Elizabeth Taillefer, communications representative for the triathlon, in a release.

The registration fee of $10 can be paid the day of the event between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. The race will begin at 9:00 a.m. Participants are asked to bring their own bright-coloured swim cap (not black, gray or navy). 

The NCTT is seeking volunteers to help test the course. Please contact Barb Roy at [email protected] if you would like to volunteer.
