The 2008-09 Laurentian swim team will step up to the blocks for the first time on Saturday, September 20, 2008 as they dive in against Voyageurs Alumni. The meet will start at 9 a.m. and takes place in the Laurentian Olympic Gold Pool.
The Laurentian swim teams have already been training for three weeks in this young season. This meet will give the coaches a chance to evaluate the newcomers to the team and see the progress veterans made over the summer.
"It's always great to see the alumni come back and race. It's a great chance for the rookies and vets to chat with the alumni about the years to come and the years that have passed," said head coach Phil Parker, in a release.
"This will also give Alain and I our first chance to see how the first year swimmers execute their races. Training has gone very well to date and they are getting anxious to hit the blocks."
Bragging rights will be up for grabs for new and old Voyageurs a like on Saturday September 20 as the teams will make waves in the Laurentian Olympic Gold Pool at 9 a.m.
