The Wolves got off to a flying start Friday, scoring four times in the opening period. Akim Aliu opened the scoring just 45 second into the period. Justin Donati followed that with a pair of goals just 27 seconds apart. Andrew Self's 14th of the year would give the Wolves a 4-0 lead heading into the second period.

The second period would see Donati complete the hat trick with his 43rd of the season. Former Wolves' forward Jesse Messier broke the shut-out bid with his 23rd of the season on the power play.

On Saturday, the Wolves scored four straight goals to take a 4-1 lead. Justin Donati, Andrew Self, Akim Aliu and Adam McQuaid scored for Sudbury. The Ice Dogs managed to tie the game before Patrik Lusnak scored the eventual winner in the eighth round of the shoot-out.
