The Sudbury Wolves announced today that overage forward and Coniston native Cory McGillis has decided to leave the Sudbury Wolves.

Citing injuries and personal issues, the five-year OHL veteran notified Wolves' head coach/GM Mike Foligno that he has decided to call it quits. McGillis arrived in Sudbury in October after he was acquired from the Plymouth Whalers.

In 11 games with the Wolves, McGillis recorded one goal, three assists and 18 penalty minutes.

"We are grateful that Cory came to Sudbury and gave it his best shot," said Foligno in a release.

"We are disappointed that things didn't work out here but we want to thank Cory for his contribution to the Wolves and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours."

The departure of McGillis now leaves the Wolves with an overage spot to fill on the team's roster.

The Wolves will travel to Barrie on Thursday night to play the Colts before returning home to host Kitchener on Friday and Guelph on Saturday.
