It's an all-or-nothing weekend for Sudbury Wolves veterans and rookie members alike.

While selected veterans will travel to Montreal for the NHL Entry Draft, a handful of rookies are off to Ottawa to participate in the Team Ontario Under 17 tryouts.

Marcus Foligno is expected to be drafted into the NHL, according to the Wolves' organization. The 18-year-old forward is getting bigger and stronger by the day and his “power forward” status is propelling him up the draft lists of several NHL teams, a press release stated. Foligno now stands 6-2 and weighs in at 215 pounds.

Other Wolves’ players who have been identified by Red Line Report — an independent scouting agency — and are eligible to be drafted into the NHL this weekend include: Daniel Maggio, Peter Hermenigildo, Alain Valiquette, John Kurtz, Andrew Loverock, Sergei Sheleg, and prospect Brandon Pirri.

The team's five newly drafted players — Justin Sefton, Frankie Corrado, Kristoff Kontos, Adam Di Brina and Andre Comtois — will compete against the best 16-year-old players in the province for one of 20 roster spots on Team Ontario's Under 17 team. The five teammates have advanced to the final 80 in Ottawa.

Team Ontario will compete in the 2010 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, which will be played in Timmins beginning Dec. 29.
