The Sudbury Wolves travelled to the Hershey Centre in Mississauga on Valentine's Day in search of a win and remaining in a playoff position. The Mississauga St. Michael's Majors had different plans as they continued their dominance of the Wolves and won the contest by the final score of 5-1.

The Majors jumped out to an early lead in the first period with a goal by Jordan Mayer at the 2:30 mark and would keep the 1-0 lead into the second period. The Majors also outshot the Wolves 19 to 6.

Within the first minute of the second period, the Majors scored a power play marker by William Wallen. Less than five minutes later, Mayer increased the Majors lead to three, scoring his second goal of the game.

The Wolves did get on the board before the end of the frame on a goal by Kyle Tarini, with an assist from Jake Cardwell.

The Wolves started the third period down by a score of 3-1 and were unable to to put anything together to get past Majors goaltender J.P. Anderson. The Majors scored two more unanswered goals by Jared Gomes and Michael Pelech to win the game by a final of 5-1.

Sudbury Wolves netminder Andrew Loverock had a solid outing, despite the loss, making 39 saves while Anderson made 19 saves to get the win.

The Wolves will return to action at the Sudbury Arena on tonight when they host the Soo Greyhounds for the final game of the the Bell Challenge Cup series. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
