Wolves, police partner in support of special Olympics

On Dec. 29 at a game between the Sudbury Wolves and the Owen Sound Attack at the Sudbury arena, the Greater Sudbury Police Service will be on site working with the Wolves and the Law Enforcement Torch Run to raise awareness and donations for the Ontario Special Olympics.

In February, Owen Sound will be the host city for the 2007 Provincial Special Olympic Winter Games. The Owen Sound Attack have challenged all OHL teams to help raising money for the Special Olympics. A percentage of the funds raised will also be redirected to the local host city for its Special Olympics chapter and for transportation costs for the athletes to attend at the winter games.

At the game Friday, there will be a number police officers and athletes in the crowd to promote the event. Everyone is invited to come out and make a small donation have their name entered to win a variety of prizes.
